Self-Care Tips - Three Easy Hints for Mind and Body Wellness
You always have at least two things in life that are intrinsically yours, that you get total control over, that nobody can tell you what to do with or how you use them: your mind and your body. These two things should be incredibly precious to you, and when something is precious, you should do your best to take care of it as well as you can. Your mental and physical health should always be your top priorities, so we’ve got a few easy tips to help you maintain your wellbeing, and be the best that you can be!
Schedule Some Relaxation Time with a DIY Home Spa
Some weeks, it can feel like every moment is full of all work and no play. It can be suffocating to feel like you don’t have a single moment to yourself, but it’s not always as bad as it seems. Take a good hard look at your schedule, and nail down a solid 30 to 60 minutes to kick back and relax with a spa at home.
Here’s a really easy DIY Bath Salt recipe that you can make with ingredients that are easy to find:
- 4 cups Epsom Salt
- 1 1/2 cup Pink Himalayan Salt
- 40-60 drops Essential Oils
- Dried Flowers (optional)
- Dried Herbs (optional)
Simply combine all ingredients into a bowl and mix together. Adding dried flowers or herbs will definitely up your bath salt game but if you don’t want the mess, sticking to just essential oils is a great option too. Add to your airtight jars and store until your next spa day.
Save Your Future Self Some Time – Healthy Meal Prep
The hardest meal to find time for is breakfast, but if you prepare it ahead of time, you’ll be able to get that extra 15 minutes of wonderful sleep in the morning, and still get some calories to burn before lunch! Take this easy recipe for overnight oats, you can spend some time making them on Sunday night and then you’ll have breakfast for the whole week.
- Regular or Gluten Free Oats
- Fresh or dried fruit
- Nuts or nut butters
- Spices (especially cinnamon or nutmeg)
- Chia seeds, flax seeds, or protein powder
- Extracts such as vanilla extract or almond extract
- Chocolate or Nutella
This is a super-customizable meal that you can fine-tune however you like. We recommend an equal ratio of oats to milk (non-dairy milks work too!). You can combine your oats and milk in a jar, like these clamp jars. With an easy to access, hinged lid, these are the best jars for overnight oats. After your oats and milk are combined, just add in any toppings that you want and seal your jar in the fridge.
Now you’ve got breakfast all week, and you don’t even have to think about it, just grab a jar and a spoon and hit the road.
